Your daily dose of writing, inspiration and resources.
We are serious writers who discover we are more prolific and inspired with a creative office space, professional community, and shared resources.
Writers of all walks and genres are welcome to apply--fiction, non-fiction, essay, screenplays, poetry, journalism... Publication or production credits are helpful, but not the only earmarks of a serious writer.
The application process is easy to follow. Once accepted, there is a simple Membership Agreement and a House Rules document for you to sign. If accepted, space may be limited. If so, you may end up on a waiting list, usually just until the next month.
Members have several options for payment:
The creative community scene isn't for everyone. But there's enough of us out there to keep writers' rooms around the country stocked with long waiting lists. For many serious writers, the home office has too many distractions, and the café deal often has the wrong vibe, too much noise, or it's a fight for the lone electrical outlet. If this sounds familiar, contact us for a visit.
We have deadlines to consider and writing to do. You'll find solace, friends, and professionalism, with the clicking of laptop keys in the background and some folks discussing their work. The space is small and open, so we do our best to keep it quiet, but most members bring along the ubiquitous ear buds to accompany their laptops. Also, in the milieu of the dojo decorated with bamboo floors and Oriental rugs, no shoes are allowed inside either building. There is an area for shoes and some slippers are available. The entire property, indoors and outside, is smoke-free. Smokers are welcome to hit the sidewalk, if they agree to clean up their cigarette butts.
