Marie Manilla

Marie Manilla is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Her novel Shrapnel recently won the Fred Bonnie Award for best first novel and will be published by River City Publishing in 2009. Her work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune as a 2003 Nelson Algren Finalist. She received the Lawrence Foundation Award for best short story to appear in Prairie Schooner in 1997. Other stories have appeared in Calyx, GSU Review, Kestrel, The Long Story, Mississippi Review, Portland Review and other journals.
