Swimming Beforehand
January 15, 2010
I want you to keep your hand up, I want you to answer every question I have About myself, and I want you To hand me a mirror, I want you to keep your hand up I want to know how much air You can fit over your head, Is this room big enough? Stand up, we’ll see, I want you to keep your hand up, I want to read your palms From a distance, I can see time Clearer that way, the future In bloom as you wave the fingers And I look at the lines, canals through My microscope, I want you to keep your hand up You are a compass, a sun dial, The hour never changes because We’re indoors, enjoy this stasis, How is your shoulder doing? I want you to keep your hand up, fine Replace it with the other, but Only until you have brought it all the way And there it flies up above us, Your nails doing an impression of the rain.
